WHAT THE CUSTOMER SHOULD DO PRIOR TO THE PAINTERS?

Exterior Painting: Trim only, or complete. Have colors chosen.
Whether you are having your trim painted or your complete exterior. On our first day we will power wash/rinse down the house/building. We will usually power wash in the afternoon between the hours of 1-5pm on the first day. As a precautionary measure, please have all windows and doors closed for this process which averages 1 to 3 hours for our crew. We do not power wash directly any windows and or doors, we wash around them, along with any openings and vents we will encounter.

The following working day(s) we will show up between 7:00 to 8:15 am to complete your job. In addition, please move any items you can (we will help you with heavy and bulky items) off patios, balconies, or relocate (maybe inside or to the garage) to the center, or away from the walls/areas we are scheduled to paint. We will protect and cover the remaining items as needed.

Trim trees, branches, shrubs and plants as best as possible, at least 18-24 inches away from the working areas, however, if this is not possible, we may be able to cover and pull back the foliage, or paint up to and around certain plants if trimming is not possible. When the job is completed we will move back your items to the best of our ability, and or, with your direction. There will be times during the prep and painting stages to have doors and windows unlocked so we may complete the sides and edges. Our exterior painting sequence is, prep and prime, finish paint the body, finish paint the trim, and then apply deck coatings last.

Interior Painting; walls only, or complete.

Have colors chosen.
We will work room by room. Each job has its differences regarding furniture. Some items are best moved by you. We will help, or move the heavy items as needed. Other furniture will be covered and remain in place for now, then moved later as needed. It will be best that you move and or cover, box, and put away light breakables, valuables etc. and the like. We will give you an idea at the time of the estimate, or before the job starts. Our concept is to start 1 or 2 rooms in the morning, and have them completed by the end of the day (if possible) so both we & you can start to put the furniture back to place. If you have elected to paint the insides of the cabinets and or closets, they will be done after the rooms are completed. Our interior painting sequence is prep & prime, finish paint the ceilings, finish paint the walls, and finish paint the trim.

If two or more stories are involved we will normally start from the top and work our way down. It is always best for you to remove (ahead of time), handle and store away from the work area(s) any light, valuable and or easily breakable items. Cabinets and hutches full of items must be emptied first, before moving. Boxing the items up would be a safe touch by you. Pictures, art and the like hanging on walls, must be removed (if we are painting the walls) by you (if possible), and placed in a safe area. It would be best if we removed the nails, screws and other fasteners from the ceilings and walls. We ask that you mark each fastener to stay with a piece of tape placed on the fastener, we then will remove all other fasteners and patch and texture the holes.
